Searching for a food photographer near you in South Florida? I’m Lars Miller, and I photograph food and beverages for restaurants, cafes, catering companies, and food brands across Palm Beach County and Broward County. Whether you need menu photography, delivery app images, social media content, or a full brand shoot for your restaurant’s website, I bring the same philosophy: make the food look as good as it tastes, with natural styling that makes people hungry.
Why Professional Food Photography Matters for Your Restaurant
We all eat with our eyes first — that’s not just a saying, it’s backed by data. Restaurants with professional photography on Google, Yelp, DoorDash, and Uber Eats consistently see higher click-through rates and more orders than those using phone photos. I’ve seen it firsthand working with South Florida restaurants: the ones who invest in quality food photography fill more tables and get more delivery orders. Period.
The South Florida dining scene is competitive. From Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach to Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, every block has restaurants fighting for attention. Professional food photography isn’t a luxury — it’s how you stand out when a potential customer is scrolling through options on their phone.
Types of Food Photography I Offer
Menu & Website Photography
Clean, appetizing images of your dishes that work across your website, printed menus, and digital platforms. I typically shoot 15-25 dishes in a half-day session, working with your kitchen team to plate and style each dish at its peak. We’ll plan the shot list in advance so prep is efficient and nothing gets cold waiting for its close-up.
Delivery App Photography
DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub have specific image requirements — square crops, consistent backgrounds, dishes centered in frame. I shoot specifically for these platforms, which means your listings look polished and consistent. Restaurants that upgrade from phone photos to professional images on delivery apps typically see a meaningful increase in orders.
Social Media Content
Instagram and TikTok-ready images and short video clips that showcase your food in the most shareable way possible. I shoot lifestyle-style food photos — overhead flat lays, action shots of cheese pulls and sauce drizzles, and moody close-ups that make people tag their friends and say “we need to go here.”
Restaurant Interior & Atmosphere
Your space is part of the dining experience. I photograph restaurant interiors, bar areas, patio seating, and the details that give your place its personality — the lighting, the decor, the energy of a busy service. These images are essential for your Google Business Profile, website, and press features.
Beverage & Cocktail Photography
Craft cocktails, wine programs, coffee drinks, and specialty beverages need their own spotlight. I’ve shot beverage content for everything from THC drink brands like High Spirits to local coffee shops. Liquid photography has its own challenges — condensation, reflections, bubbles — and I know how to handle all of them.
My Food Photography Process
Before the shoot, we’ll have a planning call to discuss your brand, your audience, and exactly which dishes and setups you need. I’ll create a detailed shot list and schedule so your kitchen knows what to prep and when. On shoot day, I bring my full lighting setup and work efficiently — most restaurant shoots wrap in 3-4 hours. You’ll receive a gallery of professionally edited images within 7 business days.
I prefer to shoot during off-hours (before service or between lunch and dinner) so we’re not competing with a busy kitchen. I bring my own surfaces and props for flat lays and styled shots, though I love incorporating your restaurant’s actual tables, plates, and decor for an authentic feel.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many dishes can you photograph in one session?
A typical half-day session covers 15-20 dishes with multiple angles and styling variations. For larger menus, a full-day session can cover 30-40 dishes. I always recommend prioritizing your bestsellers and signature items.
Do you provide food styling?
I handle basic food styling — garnish placement, sauce drizzles, steam effects, and plating adjustments. For high-end editorial shoots, I can recommend a professional food stylist to join the session. Most restaurant menu shoots don’t need a dedicated stylist since your kitchen team knows how to plate beautifully already.
Can you shoot during regular business hours?
I prefer off-hours for the best results — natural light, no kitchen rush, and full attention on each dish. That said, if you need atmosphere shots of a busy restaurant, I’m happy to come during service for those lifestyle and ambiance images.
How should we prepare the food for the shoot?
I’ll send a prep guide and shot list before the session. In general, prepare each dish fresh right before its turn on set. Having backup portions of key ingredients helps in case we need to replate. I’ll work with your chef to make sure everything looks its best.
